CHAIRMAN MESSAGE

Nursing education in India has experienced remarkable transformation in recent years. It has evolved from certification courses to doctoral programs, establishing itself as an integral part of university education. The contemporary emphasis on primary health care, in alignment with the global objective of achieving health for all by 2020 AD, has prompted significant modifications in the training of nursing personnel.
The introduction of university-level education for nurses began in 1946 with the launch of the B.Sc. Nursing program at the College of Nursing in Vellore and New Delhi. This initiative led to the establishment of several other nursing colleges offering degree programs in nursing. In a similar vein, the University of Delhi initiated a two-year M.Sc. Nursing course in 1960. To create a standardized curriculum, the Government of India appointed the Bhore Committee in 1946, and based on its suggestions, the Indian Nursing Council (INC) was constituted under an Act of Parliament in 1947.
HITKARINI SABHA, a prominent educational organization in the Mahakoshal region, founded by distinguished nationalists and freedom fighters, recognized the need for advanced nursing education and established the Jabalpur Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research in 2001. This initiative aims to empower countless aspiring students in remote towns and villages, who often lie awake at night envisioning ways to transform their futures. The institute proudly highlights its state-of-the-art infrastructure and a team of professionally qualified faculty, backed by over a century of academic expertise, with a commitment to cultivating world-class nursing professionals through exceptional nursing education.
